It is a hot August day and the semester begins in a week or two. Most of the students are back in town. So the U.W. Union is a classic place to hang out, have a beer, try to stay cool, enjoy the lake, listen to a free live band, meet up with friends who have been gone for the summer, and so on. A few photos try to capture some of the festivities present.
There is a good crowd. It is nice to sit near the water and enjoy a beer with friends. Everyone was having a nice time.
I’m glad the dog was smiling at me in the picture below.
It’s fun being on any of the many piers. Because of recent construction, there are now more piers to choose from
Here are some people having a good time.
Sneaking some Union fries …
There were lots of boaters on Lake Mondota, which is the Indian (native American) name for the lake that the Union sits on. There were jet skis, sail boats, pontoon boats, motor boats, water skiers, wind surfers, paddle boaters, and many more. Many, many people were having fun on the water.
